This Privacy Policy describes how Sapling Holding Company, a Delaware C corporation doing business as Sapling Partners (“Sapling Partners,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit our website at www.saplingpartners.ai (the “Site”) or engage with us through email or other channels.

For clients under a Consulting Services Agreement, the data practices governing your engagement data are set forth in Section 6 (Data and Privacy) of that agreement and, where applicable, our Data Processing Agreement. This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and general interactions, not to consulting engagement data.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Contact information: When you email us, request a discovery call, or fill out a contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name, and any other information you choose to include in your message.
  • Engagement information: If you enter into a consulting engagement, we collect information necessary to provide services, as described in the applicable Consulting Services Agreement.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collects standard web server log data, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information (Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health data) through the Site.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about our Services.
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Site.
  • Send you information you have requested or that we think may be relevant to you (you can opt out at any time).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Protect the rights, property, and safety of Sapling Partners, our clients, and the public.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: Third parties that help us operate the Site and provide our Services (e.g., hosting providers, email providers, analytics tools). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
  • With your consent: When you have given us explicit permission to share your information.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Contact information from inquiries is retained for up to 24 months unless you request earlier deletion. For consulting engagement data, retention is governed by Section 6.4 of the Consulting Services Agreement (30-day export window post-termination).

5. Data Security

We maintain commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we confirm a breach of personal information, we will notify affected individuals without undue delay and in any event within seventy-two (72) hours of confirmation, in accordance with applicable law.

6. Your Rights

All Users

You may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Opt out of any marketing communications.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • The right to delete personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To the extent we process personal information on behalf of a client, we act as a service provider (as defined under the CCPA) and will not sell, share, or use personal information for purposes other than performing the services described in the applicable Consulting Services Agreement.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The Site may use strictly necessary cookies required for the Site to function (e.g., session management). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. If we introduce analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and provide appropriate consent mechanisms.

8. Third-Party AI Services

Our consulting Services may involve third-party AI providers (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). Each provider has its own privacy policy and data practices. We do not use client data to train shared or foundation AI models unless the client provides separate written consent. De-identified, aggregated usage analytics are not considered client data.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or via email.
